Janice McGeachin

Together, they own and operate three businesses in the automotive industry, with stores in Idaho Falls and Boise.  In 2012, she and her family renovated an historic building and established the only Irish restaurant in downtown Idaho Falls, The Celt Pub & Grill.  Janice and Jim have two children, Liza and James, who help manage their family businesses.  Janice is a proven conservative with a track record of working with others to promote fiscal responsibility. Working with the Idaho Medical Association, Idaho Hospital Association, midwives, and clients, Rep. McGeachin enacted the Midwifery Practice Act in 2010.  As Chair of Health & Welfare, she collaborated with House/Senate Leadership, medical community, recipients, department agency, and Governor’s Office to reduce Medicaid costs across the board, avoiding deep cuts to particular programs when tax revenues came up short in 2011.  Janice is concerned about our national deficit of $19 trillion and how it will affect our life, liberty, and prosperity.  Her goal is to promote unity within Republican leadership on fiscal responsibility and to help raise public awareness of our state and nation’s finances.  Janice enjoys skiing, hiking, and traveling.
